Code P1171 C70 1999

The check engine light has been coming on from time to time,

staying on for a day or two and then going out. When I look

at the codes with the odb-2 program I get P1171 - lean mixture.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

Thanks,

Peter Schauss

I have the same problem with mine. I read the code with obd-2 setup and then reset light only to have the code re-logged (but only after a fair amount of driving). I took it to the dealer and they said it was one of the O2 sensors and replaced but it still did not fix the problem.......

    Peter,

    What program/equipment are you using?

    Thanks.

I'm using the software and cable from obd-2.com. The software

runs on my laptop computer and the cable connects the obdII port

on the car to the serial port on the computer. The software

seems to work well although the instructions are a bit sketchy.

        Peter,

Thanks. They seem to have a good package, just too expensive for me.
