It will indeed be easier to do it all at once. I bought a 3/4" drive socket set at Harbor Freight for around $40.00 as I recall. It is junk but it has all of the socket sizes you will need. To get the axle nuts loose I used the 3/4" breakover bar and a 4 foot pipe - I thought the breakover bar was going to snap since it was tweaked about 30 degrees but it finally came loose.
To get the driver's side axle out I've found that using a cold chisel as a wedge works great. You can get to it from the bottom and just tap the chisel with a hammer until the locking ring pops free. On the passenger's side it just slides right out.
For the hubs you will either need 12 point sockets or E-Torx sockets, I can't remember the size.
Hopefully you didn't buy the $79.00 Chinese Special axles, if they even fit you will be doing this again in 6 months if you did.
If you want to break the job up you can do the struts on another day since the axles and hubs stay in place when you replace the struts. When you replace the struts you should also replace the spring seats. I have been buying XC90 spring seats when I replace mine - they fit fine but they are much beefier and they only cost an extra few dollars each. Avoid ScanTech spring seats and strut bearings like the plague.
