I may need to move a piece of furniture from my brother's cabin. What kinds of roof racks are suitable for an 850, and what recommended brands do folks have?

    I just found the original volvo crossbars and ski rack on C List for $34 bucks. I'd say check C list, there is bound to be something similar in your area. I think they can probably handle a decent amount of weight.

    I have a set of Volvo load bars that fit 850/V70 through 2000. The max weight is 200lbs.

    It would probably be cheaper to rent a pickup truck for a day than spend money on a rack. You could check craigslist.org in your area, search for volvo and rack or bars.
