Diagnostic Trouble codes 850 1995

Looking for some help here.

A1- Transmission.

error code 332.

History:
Tranny was replaced about 11 months ago. Had new Volvo PNP switch put on and S1 & S2 Solenoids replaced at the same time. So not sure what is going on here, but I can definately tell on the fuel economy. loosing 3 to 4 mpg because of this.

Also unable to clear the code for a reset. Help.

A2-Engine.

error code 315

The only thing that has never been checked is the canister unit. Should I get this replaced?

The car has 283K on it and is going strong.

Diagnostic Trouble codes 850 1995

Your tranny is not locking the torque converter because of the SL solenoid. Fairly easy to replace and you will get your mpg back.

The EVAP code is because of a leak, somewhere... Finding the cracked fitting is painful, because the lines go from the tank to the cannister to the radiator bracket and to the intake manifold. Once you find the crack, it will be easy to fix.

The transmission code 3-3-2 indicates that the torque converter lock up solenoid (SL) is open. That will cost you mileage at about the rate you describe. It is too bad that they didn't replace SL while they were right there along with the S1 and S2 solenoids.

It begs the question, why did they replace S1 and S2 in the first place?

If they read open I would be checking the edge connector on the TCU and the connector at the transmission for dirty contacts.

For the 3-1-5 EVAP code just start checking all of the lines to and from the cannister and to and from the purge valve. The line from the gas tank is particularly prone to splitting.

Is this SL solenoid located in the same area as the S1 & S2 soleniods? or is it external on the transmission housing?


As far as the EVAP goes. I was thinking of replacing all of it anyways since the car is getting up there in miles. 283K on it and that has never really been an issue until now. So I was figuring on doing it all up.
