850 GLT shaking like a washing machine in spin cycle

All of a sudden after braking at a stop light: shaking noticeable while idling, similar to washing machine in spin cycle. Whole car shakes, feels like about 10 cycles per second. At highway speed, shaking is not as apparent. Is this likely a motor mount? There are about 160K on the odometer and original mounts as far as I know. How much shop time to replace mounts? Thanks for your tips.

If the top engine mount is loose, get a poly bushing and replace it yourself. OEM bushings need to be pressed in, not very long lasting, and expensive.

The forward mount, above the right suspension is fairly easy to replace. Less than 1 hour billable. Just a couple of bolts to the frame and to the engine. If you DIY, you will need to have the front of the car on jack stands or ramps. Because the engine will have to be lifted about 1/4 inch to take the weight off the mount.

No check engine light? I would look for a bad plug or something else to cause the engine to shake.

Well you were onto something, Klaus. I did get a P0201, injector fault on C1. Took off the plate, snapped the injector back in place and no more spin cycle... Like lego mechanics.
