Oil leak - getting pretty bad - 2000 S80 T6 S80

Hi all, new to forum. (Previous volvos - new 1989 240, new 1993 240, sure miss those red blocks)

Have a 2000 S80 T6, have owned since 2001(bought with 42000).Current 170,000. Have gone through all the trials ECM, ABS controler, tranny, front end ghosts, etc, etc. Anyway, still have the love / hate relationship with car.

Getting long in the tooth for major repairs (just put in tie rod ends and lower control arms with new tires).

Anyway, been a "leaker" for some time now but starting to get worse. Loosing about a quart every 1K. When I get under it and take off the plastic skid plate it is pretty fowled with oil. Have cleaned the plastic cover that goes over filter and made sure the gasket was seated correctly as well as put a new drain plug / washer in.

Am looking for some direction as to where / what could be problem. NO oil on top of engine and not very clear where oil is coming from under car, other than oil on filter case and at back of pan.

Pretty handy guy, do my own plugs, coils, abs, ECM, etc. Can someone point me to the place to look for leaks? Also, anyplace to go to get schematics to use as guide.

Thanks in advance. Still do love to cruise the black beauty down the interstate at 80 MPH, stiil rides great with plenty of top end over 80 mph when needed.

Regards,
Ed
