oil leak on front of engine S70 1998

I have a 98 S70 N.A. that recently had its RMS and breather/pvc all replaced about a month ago.

I just noticed that there is a new leak underneath. It looks like it is wet on the front of the engine above the oilpan and goes downa and soaks the oilpan. When I replaced the breather, I used new tubes to attach it to the block. Could something there be leaking?

By "front" of engine, do your mean the side facing the front of the car? The real front of the engine is the driver's side.

You could have a loose hose between the box and the manifold. Did you route the hose from the top of the manifold to the center or outside nipple of the separator box? The correct opening is the outside one. The center opening on top of the separator box is for the vacuum hose going to the throttle body and flame trap.

Read the following post, especially the MadeInJapan dated Sun Feb 17, 2008 6:58 pm, about the 6th post down.

Well, I meant the front of the car. That was a great link, thanks for posting.

Everything is hooked up right with the oil separater. It looks like the angle hose that goes to the block is leaking oil. It is the short one. Not sure why since I have a hose clamp on it and it was new when I replaced it a couple months ago. I may have to take the manifold off again to fix it. Should there be oil passing through that short hose though? I thought it was exhaust gases.

Oil will slosh into that small tube. You may not have tightened it down enough. And you are correct, you will have to remove the manifold again. Second time will be much faster, so long as you remember not to tighten the bottom bolt of the support bracket until the manifold is back in place.
