Check Engine Light S60

The check engine light came on. I had someone plug in a code reader and it said no codes locked in. 2007 S60 57000 miles with no apparent problems. The light is still on. Do you need a special reader for Volvos?

    Jeff,
    I just realized you have a 2007!! You need a scan tool that has CDN protocol, a slightly more expensive version or newer scanner is required.

    Service or check engine? If it is the CEL, then any generic code reader will produce the code that is responsible.
