locate and clean mass air flow sensor in 2005 S40

Hi,

I have a 2005 S40 2.4i. A recent dealership diagnostic indicated a faulty mass air flow sensor. I've heard these can get fouled and just need cleaning, but I'm not exactly sure where the part is located (somewhere between air filter and intake manifold...). Can someone describe how to locate this part and remove for cleaning? any special tools required? thanks...

Usually as part of the air filter lid, just before the air tube to the throttle body. It has an electrical plug, clean this plug first before doing anything else.
The MAF sensor requires special cleaner and may not be touched with fingers, rag, brush, or anything else. Just spray it on and let the spray clean it.
