Hood release C70 1999

Just purchased a 1999 C70. The owner opened the hood for me in his heated garage and it opened just fine. When I got it home and tried, no luck. The passenger side would unlatch but the driver side stays down. Besides a broken heart and a wife saying "I told you so" is there anyone out there that can tell me how I can solve the problem?

Thanking you all in advance!

Happened to my S70 not long ago. Try having one of you hold the hood release fully "out" while the other tries to lift the hood. Once you get it open, use some lubricant on the latches.

That happens a lot. The driver's side is adjusted too tightly. I usually just give the handle a good jerk and have the hood pop up, doing it slowly results in only one side releasing.

If it doesn't work, close the hood on the passenger side and try again. remember, fast and hard jerk.
