1995 850 se temp gauge fluctuations. 850

My 1995 850 se as just started with an erratic temperature gauge.
Ive checked the engine itself with a thermocouple gauge while driving so the engine is behaving itself temp wise.
The temp sensor on the thermostat is giving the right resistances for different temperatures.
Does anyone have information on repairing the instrument cluster itself,or should I just go ahead and dig one out of a breakers yard.
Using the A block and socket 7 ,I cant get any reaction from the led to extract fault codes for the instrument panel ,I was told that yazaka panels dont support this.
The car is 200k residing in the uk
cheers Ian

It would be easier to get a "new" panel from the breakers, and then change the mileage in the odometer.

VDO or Yazaka instrument panel 850

I have never seen a Yazaka unplugged, so I cannot say if you can install the VDO panel with the same plugs. I prefer the VDO also, except for the service light.
BTW, replace the light bulbs before installing.
