Differences between Tubo/NA Muffler? 850 1995

The muffler on my 1995/855 is dying, but replacement cost was a bit rich for
my blood (given I have over 200K miles on it). However, a neighbour purchased
a very good condition OEM muffler from a junker, and is offering it to me for a
good price (turned out he could get away with a little welding). Problem is, he
doesn't know if it was from a Turbo or NA car. It _looks_ like my muffler, but
I see there is a different part listed at most sites for the Turbo and NA models.

My question is: Should I be able to use this part in my car? It's from a 1995
model, but unknown as to Turbo or NA. Thanks for any help.

Measure the outside diameter of both tail pipes where they go into the cat. They should be the same size. Inspect the hanger bracket for the doner tail pipe, it should be identical to yours.

As is typical, the connection between my cat and muffler failed, and has now been
welded (attempts to clamp failed): I will be cutting this pipe and adding a
new section of pipe anyways, so I can easily adapt to whatever is needed. I will
inspect the hanger bracket for the tail pipe (also hacked after original failed)
and make sure that they are compatible.

      Thanks Klaus!
