Best way to sell a cherry '05 V70 2.5T? V70-XC70 2005

Hi all. I have an '05 V70 2.5T that is in outstanding condition, and I would like to sell it. I only have had it 6 months, but I don't drive it and it is sitting there depreciating. I got it certified preowned from a Volvo dealer, but I haven't checked to see if that goes away when I sell it.

I am thinking Autotrader would be a good choice, but am open to all opinions. I used A-T successfully to sell a 3 year old car once before (somebody came 800 miles to get it), and found it good for cars 2-4 years old that someone is "looking for". I was thinking with the new larger engine, the 5 cyl in this might be attractive to someone concerned with fuel economy. I heard from a few dealers that they have customers looking for the V70 2.5T, and that gave me (false?) hope that I may not have a miserable time selling it.

Any thoughts or advice are welcomed. I shouldn't have bought this car without driving it more, because it simply doesn't suit my driving style. More importantly I just don't need it. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Thanks, Don

'05 V70 2.5T 46,500 miles

Don,
Knowing you, very little needs to be done to one of your cars :)

You might want to stop at ACE hardware and pick up a spray bottle of AtmosKlear to get rid of any odors. Spray it on the carpets, the rear area, and the air intake. AtmosKlear has no perfumes and eliminates all odors.
Clean off the dust in front of the instrument cluster, make sure the spare has air, and clean out all of the door pockets, seat back storage, and glove box. If you have a garage door opener on the visor, get it out of the car before you forget and the new owner drives off with it.

Use AT to sell it. Take lots of pics, people like that. And use lots of words, they are free! Mention your current mpg, if like mine at 22-28mpg.

Your certified can not be transferred, sorry. But there are good companies that will give the new owner a good deal on a new policy.

Klaus

Thanks Klaus. Actually the car still has that new car smell (a fan of the movie Fargo will recognize that line) - maybe the dealer sprayed some of that in there :D

I bought it 7 months ago and have driven it maybe 1000 miles total. The conundrum is it is worth more than anything I would want to trade it in for. That's part of the problem - I didn't realize I would buy a motorcycle and be using that mostly. It makes no sense at all to leave a car like that sitting around. In the old days I didn't mind a car losing 4K a year, but hey I don't work anymore.

I'll bite the bullet and look up its value (haven't had the guts so far) and put it on AT. I did that last time - 9 pics. People will come a long distance for the right car. I was afraid that warranty is useless. At least I can advertise that it had it.

Thanks for the advice, Don

Hi - I didn't mean to make this a classified ad - I sincerely am hoping to lose the least amount of money on this + get it to someone who can use it.

I would have emailed but I don't see that option for you. You can email me for more details, but quickly it is auto tranny w/geartronic, bluish-green/tan int, I'm in eastern PA. Thanks, Don

Thanks for the update. Unfortunately, it's too far for me to come and see it. Have you considered ePrey? Lots of cars sell there.
