Flashing arrow V70-XC70 2000

Hello todays question is: I was driving today and all of a suddon I look at the lights and I had a flashing up arrow (upshift) and a check engine light. I have not pulled the codes yet. I have done some quick research and I saw a similar post and tried the remedy posted. It was to cycle throught the gears back and forth a number of times with the ignition on, but that has not seemed to fix anything. The car seems to be running fine no noticible difference in driving.

Please help!

Thanks,
Ken

Check the level and color of the tranny fluid and get the codes read. This is not a PNP switch problem yet.

Still haven't gotten the codes. I did check the trans fluid dipstick. I beleive you check trans. with the engine running. Is that correct? IF so, it was on the dipstick to the cold level. The engine is cold. The color was red, on the pinkish side of red though. Do these findings seem normal?

      Thanks,

That was correct. We usually like to check it when it is hot, but if it was at the top of the cold mark, that works. Pinkish is what you want to see.
Waiting for codes, probably a bad solenoid which isn't hard to replace.
