P0037: Heated oxygen sensor, heater control circuit low(B1S2) S60 2002

I have owned an 02 S60 for about a year now. I'm used to working on the 89 740 that I had before, so I'm not so used to these new OBD systems. Given a P0037 error code, in what order should I check things to see if it's an O2 sensor and whether it is the front or back. What else could be wrong?

And leads on cheap Bosch sensors are greatly appreciated.

It is the front sensor, the only one that is heated. Someone on Volvospeed.com suggested cleaning the cavity of the O2 sensor, it worked for 2 of the guys over there.
What they did was remove the sensor, heated the cavity with a torch, and then sprayed it after it cooled with degreaser, several times. Perhaps someone over there will guide you to the write up.
Or, just replace the O2 sensor.

Any idea what the part number is on the front sensor? I have seen prices ranging from $75 to over $300, and I don't really trust that they are offering up the same part. The local parts store has it for $180 with the wiring harness, so that seems reasonable, but I'll take the $75 one if all I have to do is solder a few wires into place.

AutohausAZ.com has OEM for around $180. Cheaper is not always better in my book. You do not want to crimp/solder wires hoping that it will last.
