Instrument Electrics? V70-XC70 1999

I am driving down the road when stuff happens:

First the Brake Warning Light came on, then off. This repeated 3 times in 20 minutes.
Second the speedometer would drop to zero for 3 to 4 minutes, then go back to driving speed. This happened several times as well.
Both these occurrences happened randomly for about 20 minutes at highway speed yesterday.
Today around town these symptoms do not present.

Does anyone have any ideas or input to share with me?

Best,
Tom

If the warning light were for the ABS, it would make sense that you need to send the ABS unit to Victor. That unit also has a speed sensor involved.

But the brake warning light? That is normally associated with low brake fluid.

Please answer, we need to know if the advice is good or bad. The 164 has a new home, all I am left with are 2 turbos :)

Check the battery connections and any ground connections.

Instrument Electrics? V70-XC70 2000

To any of you reading the tale of woe re the instrument electronics: My most recent trial with this 2000 V70 R is the frequent appearance of ABS and "skid warning" lights,( on and off )and occasional appearance of the Check Engine light for good measure. Yesterday on the way home I gave a little blip of acceleration to move around a slow vehicle, RPMs gained, and speedo dropped to zero! Went back to normal operation 3 to 4 minutes later!!

Thanks Klaus: will have ABS module looked into. Can it relate to Check Engine, or is that more likely emissions related?
