Synthetic Oil S70 1999

I have a great 99 S70 GLT Turbo with about 60k miles on it. I have always used regular oil but am curious about using synthetic oil instead. I have been told how great it is and how it will extend engine life.

I am very meticulous about changing oil and have seldom ever gone over 4000 miles without a change.

Anyone care to share their opinions on the pro's and con's of synthetic oil?
