I'm considering removing my 850 Fender - to look for additional crash damage. 850

Does it just bolt off? Some hidden bolt that everyone misses? Any glue involved?

I didn't see anything in Bay13 or my Haynes - although Haynes does have bumper removal perhaps.

I know the side bumper support is toast.

Alright, it has been a year, but here is what I remember. First off, there IS a hidden nut (bolt stub is welded into a flexible tab welded to the fender). The nut is accessible under the battery on the driver side. Look at the passenger side to see it's location (with a flashlight). It is under the outside headlight wiring, and of course flush against the inside of the wheelwell. This isn't a great description, but it is the only nut anywhere nearby. It is 10 or 11mm, I think.

Other than this, you have a couple of bolts on each side coming in through the headlight panel. Then there is a bolt/captive nut that can be a bit of a PITA on each side that bolts the bumper cover to the fender. Look under the car at the sides to see it. You have to jockey your open end or box wrench around several times to get it out.

Other than this you have the obvious two bolts from inside the door frame, and the rivets.

I always had my bumper cover off - I don't honestly know if you can do the above without pulling it. It seems to me if you have the two bottom rivets in the wheelwell out, the side bolt mentioned above removed, and the nut mentioned above removed with the stub pressed outwards, you might be able to slide the fender out.

Good luck. It isn't rocket science of course. That hidden nut had me going for a short while. Don 1995 854T 182K
