I have some questions about my 2002 V70 2.4T automatic.

1. I've read some negative stuff about automatic transmissions in the V70's from 2001 and 02. My car only has about 65000 kms done so far and I have not experienced problems yet, however I think it kicks in very late when I put it into 'drive' (about 1 or 2 seconds), but that's maybe normal? Can anyone tell me if I should worry about my automatic transmission? I also read about software updates for the transmission, does this als apply to Belgian cars? And how do I know if the car already had an update (without asking my dealer)?
2. Does anyone have experience with mounting a multimedia system into this car (or similar Volvo's)? Installers are not keen to built screens into the headrests nor it is possible to mount a screen onto the roof because I have a sunroof. Several say they cannot make the head unit work with the steering wheel buttons, because the manufacturers don't provide the right connections. I've looked at Kenwood and Pioneer so far (because they have double din head units with touch screens), any other suggestions?
