just bought a '97 850R wagon..have some questions 850 1997

hi i just bought a '97 850R wagon.. this is my first volvo.. im usually a VAG person mut the passat and A6 wagons has no oomph and i couldnt afford an allroad LOL

anyway.. first question:
the DOT headlights seem anemic to the e-codes i had on my audi..is there any upgrades? i bought some H4 headlights from a '93 850 but they wont fit my 97..

also the R comes with those little foglites in the front chinspoiler.. those are a joke.. they dont put out any light.. is there any upgrades for that?

and also my car came with no roof rails..just the factory thule roofrack that clamps above the doors.. i want to add some of the wagon roof rails.. is it easy to do? anyone interested in the factory rack?..

also im looking for one of those little hatch spoilers...

    Stupid US regulations. If you want superior headlights with excellant beam patterns, you need to get European headlamp assemblies:

    Their prices are in Euros and that is trading at less than .75EU per $1.00, thank you Bush! I suggest an email requesting the entire assembly and side marker lamps and ship by air freight, otherwise it is a 6 week wait.

    The "fog" lamps are just pure window dressing.

    Roof rails and "spoiler" are at your local dealer or on Ebay. Get the Euro model rails, they look better. The drip rail center strip comes out and you will then see the mounting holes underneath,

      i actually just bought a pair of european spec glass headlight lenses for my DOT headlights.. can i just install the euro lenses on the DOT headlights or is that pointless? whats different about the euro headlight buckets?

        I did that for my V70. Ecode lenses. But beware, the reflector is not meant to be used with Ecodes. I had to lower my beams to almost the max, to get the cutoff to the proper aim. And I had to put a piece of electric tape on the driver's side lense to keep the right most beam from shining into the trucker's cab when passing semi trailers.
        I love them!
