Well having been 'sweating' on replacing my timing belt and reading all the posts on the topic, I finally tackled it on the weekend and did the job with no problems at all. Used Bay 13 instructions (thus did not remove crankshaft pulley). The only hassle I had was trying to remove the old belt, and resorted to cutting it to remove it. The new belt slips on past the crank pulley much easier than the old belt to come off. For instructions in setting up the new mechanical belt tensioner I fitted (along with a new idler pulley) I used the instructions in http://www.babcox.com/editorial/ic/ic60326.htm.
I found the timing marks on the crank pulley fairly easily and in fact the mark to line up on the engine case is the valley between the 2 teeth with cut marks. If when the new belt is put on with no slack on the right as it comes up to the intake cam pulley you can't get it wrong, as if it out then it has to be out by the increment of one tooth - which is a long way and clearly obvious when lining up on the plastic housing. Anyway it was not a big deal after all, just take your time and allow 4-5 hours the first time. Parts I got from FCP Groton.
Cheers, Phil.
