I am relocating to the Portland, Maine area. Anyone know a good mechanic there? / Which ones to stay away from?

    Frank Jimino, Route 302 in Windham. Reasonable and down to earth. 15 minutes out of Portland.
    Alan Auto, St John Street, Portland. 'spensive and a perfectionist. I don't know if he works on the FWDs, but I expect so. Much of his business is restoration work on the classics.
    There are a couple of others around, John's in South Portland.
    The dealer, Goodwin's (formerly Bates and Cunningham) in Topsham is excellent, and about a half hour up the road. Portland Volvo is not nearly as good.
