Would anyone know of a national or international network of used part recyclers who might have a good used bevel gear for my 2000 XC? The local dismantlers aren't able to come up with one and I am trying to broaden my search.

I was told that the bevel gear for the 2000 model was specific to the car, that you could not put in another year. Let me know what you find out.

Why don't you get rid off the bevel gear all together and make your car a frontwheel drive? This way you will save some serious cash.

It is the same bevel gear used in the 1998 and 1999 models, if that helps any.
