stalling V70-XC70 1998

i was driving in traffic and my car stalled...
i was going around a sharp curve at the time, took my foot off the accelerator and it just died. i shifted into neutral and started the car and kept driving. then it happened again, i started and kept driving. it happened a third time and the car became harder to start... i went through this a few more times until it just wouldn't start. i did notice some smoke coming from the exhaust and there was an unusual odour also. i got the car towed home and now it seems to be starting and idling fine--i decided not to take it out for a test drive... any ideas?

Your engine mount by the passenger wheel could be broken, and in sharp turns, you could be stressing some electrical connections. You will need to remove the wheel, lift the flap on the inner fender, and inspect the mount. Mine was completely torn in 2 pieces last month - happened to find it when replacing a ball joint.
