DSS axles V70-XC70

Has anyone tried the DSS axles yet? A hundred bucks for a new axle sounds too good to be true.

Any info would be a big help.

Cheers.

6 months on the passenger side replacement DSS axle. Just put two driver's side into other 850s. No leaks so far and they drive pretty well. Bought the axles from FCP Groton with a limited lifetime warrantee. Hope I don't need the warrantee.

If you look for a post of mine a few weeks ago I describe how my new DSS axle came apart in my hands. Well the boot kept the end from completely falling off. I am putting its replacement in tomorrow and will let you know how it goes. Mark has warned that the new low cost axles tend to leak at the trans seal, even when the seal is replaced. I have my new seal and axle and am going to try. Will keep the old axle in good shape just in case... It does sound too good to be true.

OK, put my new DSS axle in today and it works fine. I wimped out and left my new seal in the package. My thinking was: the old seal didn't leak and swapping the axle out a few times didn't make it leak. There is non-mechanic thinking for you. So, instead of putting in a new seal, I threw the dice. Have only gone 60 miles, but everything looks good so far.
