Everyone, I should start off by thanking anyone who replies to this post. You are always very generous to help me out with my Volvo problems and I truly appreciate it. Now on to the problems:
1995 Volvo 850 Sedan, 142k Naturally Aspirated
I've got some minor transmission shifting issues, to me (and hardly anyone else) it seems to shift rough at times. The transmission guy of course said it's going out, but my gut feeling says it's being caused by something else. My mechanic says that is very possible.
Codes: First of all, I just checked my codes again tonight in Socket #2 and only got code "241" which is apparently EGR Malfunction or Flow Fault. The mechanic told me the EGR sensor needs replacement which I believe is true - it's obviously got fuel issues. My question is - can this be affecting the transmission in ANY way shape or form causing the shifts to feel just a hair off?
Second question pertains again to codes. Just out of curiosity I plugged the code sensor probe into the other sockets and pressed the button. When I plugged it into Socket #3 I got three codes back. 312, 213, and 214. I was NOT told nor have I read anywhere that I should check my codes in these other sockets - my question is should I? Do these codes mean anything? You would know better than I would. All three of these codes pertain to Knock fuel sensor, Throttle switch signal and Ignition RPM sensor. They're all kind of fuel related and I'm curious if they are real or erroneous because I plugged into Socket 3.
Sorry for the long questions but I can't describe it any other way.
Thank you again, VERY much and I anxiously await your responces.
