Auto transmission fluid S40-V40 2003

Does anyone know what type automatic transmission fluid is needed for a 2003 S40 (USA) that replaces the Volvo fluid. I've talked to two different dealers and have gotten two different answers. One told me Dextron 3 the other said Mobil 1 or Mercon 5. I've tried searching and have come up blank for the S40. Any info or help would be greatly appricated. Thank you in advance for any replys.

    Check a website, s40concepts.net. It's dedicated to the S40. I believy your car came with Mobil 3309. It's not DexronIII/mercon. That was for the 2000 model year that I own. Your car has a 5 speed transmission. Mobil 1 synthetic may be fine, but check s40 concepts to be sure. Seems some dealers don't know much.
