Where is the block antifreeze draincock on the 850? I must be blind. Thanks!

    It,s a plug on the back side of the block, between the oil pan and exhaust manafold, a little to the right of center. Don't take it out when things are hot or you will burn your arm.

    The block drain is on the passenger side. If you are on your back under the car it is to the right of the oil drain plug and up about 2/3 the block. There is a picture of it in Haynes, but like many Haynes pictures, little indication of its location.

    Don't use the drain cock...many break them off...they are made of plastic. Take off the lower hose and it will be much much easier anyway. Actually the drain cock is at the bottom of the radiator on the passenger side.

      MIJ, FYI -- there are two drains, one at the bottom of the radiator (plastic) and one on the engine block. Both need to be opened when doing a flush.

        Thanks Klaus...didn't realize that. Seems I saw my indy only take the hose off, but some of my view was restricted so I can't be for sure.
