Replacement for Nivomat shocks? 850 1995

Hi
My '95 850t5 wagon with 310'000km on the clock is equiped with NIVOMAT rear shocks. These are prohibitively expensive in South Africa (agents only +/- $500 each)- what alternatives are open to me? I am not scared of modifications and have a well equiped workshop and lathe/milling equipment at my disposal.

    I guess those of us in the States are lucky we have outfits like FCPGroton.com which sell them for $250US each. Some on this board have replaced nivomats with heavy duty springs and shocks. I would find out what it would cost to ship from USA to SA and any import duties.

      Yup- you guys are lucky. Import duties make it more expensive than the local stuff. Any threads for the heavy duty springs & shocks?
