Xenon Retrofit - Low Beam Failure (V50T5 - 2005) V50 2005

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the lighting system of the V50? I installed a Xenon light kit for the low beams with separate fused power feed and relay switched from the factory lights. Basically the relay is powered throught the factory light plug which closes contacts through the relay bringing power to the ballast and HID. After the installation, the I got a low beam failure message in the message center and the lights went off. There was a buzzing in the dash but I could not locate it. I checked under the glove box but there is only a fuse tray, nothing under the drivers side that I could see.

Without starting the car, the lights come on and stay on. Only when the car is started do the low beam light go out and the buzzing starts. The relay pulls less amps than the factory halogen lamp and I think that is why the computer things that the light is burn't (failed). Any help with fixing this problem is appreciated.

Thanks!

Don't you just love these new computers? IIRC all mods have to be programmed into the computer, and only the dealer can do that.

The computers are ok, it is the lack of documentation that is the real pain. I tried calling a local dealer and basically got the brush off. Way to support your customers!!

I've done some more digging and apparently there is a "shunt" (a small resistor basically) that samples the current to see if there is a bulb failure. I want to find this shunt to see about by-passing it. Under the glove box there is a tray (very hard to get at by the way) with fuses and relays but I cannot get it out without lots of work. There is nothing that I can see on the drivers side. I hope I don't have to rip apart the dash to get to the darn thing.

      Any ideas?
      Thanks
