Accelerator cable binding S70 1998

During a recent 2K mile road trip the accelerator developed a hard spot at the top of it's travel. My wife told me it was because I use the cruise, she doesn't. I checked the throttle butterfly and it moves freely. I noticed an elcetrical connector on the cable at the firewall, is this a micromotor for the cruise? Can the cable be lubed to free it's movement, or is this a replace only fix?

Thanks.

For what's it's worth, I found that the butterfly was sticking in the throttle body, same problem I've had with the 4 700s I've owened. I didn't see the PCV orifice to make the connection that it would be oil scuzz.

Hog wash. If the cable is starting to drag, give it some oil. The other alternative is to replace the cable.

Don't lubricate the cable. It will attract dust and bind worse.
