Pitting on alloy wheels

Just acquired a 98 S70, and we're trying to clean 'er up. The alloy wheels have dark pitting (from brake dust) that will not come off w/ elbow grease, etc. Is there a magic formula to remove this blemish?? THANX

i got this stuff at advance auto parts that works great at removing the brake dust from your wheels. i dunno what it's called, but if you go to a place like that you'll be able to find it with all the other cleaning stuff. ;)
