wiper arm replacement S40-V40

Hi Guys:
I'm a regular on the 700 forum,but need yr help for my daughter's '00
S40. The driver's side wiper arm got somehow bent. I bought a replacement from the dealer, but dont see how I can get the original out. There is no cap covering the base of the arm where it attaches to the body of the car. Below
there is something similar to a dented wheel, but if that is it,you seem to need some sort of special tool to turn it. Has anybody done this sort of replacement?
Any sort of help will be welcomed.
Tks

I will be replacing mine, so I will let you know how it goes. There is indeed a cap at the bottom of the arm where it attaches to the cowling. You need to have the hood open to access it, and a small screwdriver to prise it off. There is then a screw holding the arm to the wheel. I need to replace mine because some bozo (me) tried to adjust the arc of the arm and did not correctly align the detents on the arm to the teeth on the wheel, and it slaps the A pillar every other swipe. So make certain you do get the alignment just right, and get the screw nice and snug on the new arm.

It was very easy and only took a few minutes. First open the hood. You now have access to the arm. Remove the plastic cover using a small straight-slot screwdriver. There is a nut which holds the arm onto the spindle. I believe it is a 13mm. Remove the nut with a socket and lift the old arm out. Make sure you have a new blade on the arm before you put it on. Flip the arm into the up position, and put the flange over the spindle (It will not go on if it is in the down position). While holding the flange, carefully lower the arm to the windshield. If you let it slap down it will pop off. The new arm will need to be positioned on the windshield before you replace the nut, as the spindle will cut new teeth into the flange of the new arm. The blade should be parallel with the bottom of the windshield. Tighten the nut until it is snug, but do not over-tighten. Good luck!
