'94 850 exhaust manifold install 850

I am replacing the exhaust manifild on my '94 850 non-turbo...I have the five gaskets which go between the manifold and head...which way are they mounted? Does the side with the black strip go on the head side or the manifold side?

    I checked my VADIS and it appears that it can only go on there one way. If you're talking about the black line being under (not visible) or on top (visible) before you put the manifold back on, I would put it so the black line is visible. Also, don't forget the clamp on the 4th socket if you have a turbo engine and the crankcase ventilation hose coming up through the 2nd and 3rd ducts if yours had this to begin with (some weren't made with this). Also, while you're in there, clean the throttle body and replace its gasket...it's really a cheap part and a shame if you don't get it done while it's easily taken care of. Tighten the manifold from the middle out with torque at 20Nm or 14.75ftlbs. Good luck!
