Lose all power 850 1994

A couple of times now,I'll be driving along and the car will lose all electric power and stop running .
I'll coast to the side of the road and nothing will work ,not even the 4 way flashers or interior lights.
Battery still shows 12.8 v and I try to wiggle the battery cables ,thinking
bad cable or loose ground ,but that doesn't help .
After a while the flashers start working and everything is fine .

Any ideas where to start looking ?
Thanks.

Maybe try a new ignition switch.

Have been told by previous owners that this is a common problem with this model. Try replacing fuel pump relay [~$20].

But why would a fuel pump relay make all the electronics go dead? Very very strange. I would say that something is loose electrically and it's very simple but gives you problems intermittantly and hard to tease out. My thoughts are towards the ignition switch. Do the internal lights inside the cabin work when this happens?
