'98 XC70 DRIVESHAFT QUESTIONS V70-XC70 1998

Answer to #1 after doing a search on 'center bearing':

Driveshaft center bearing- Lesson #1
The support bearing on the driveshaft assembly started making noise at 75k miles. Now, I replaced the bearing on the drive shaft earlier for $43 by taking the drive shaft assembly to a driveline shop. They replaced the bearing. Volvo wanted $1700 for the driveshaft assembly new or I was quoted $800 for a remanufactured assembly.
-----
Remember to mark with paint the proper connecting parts of the shaft. You don't want to be off by 90 or 180 degrees and have severe vibration.

_____________
#2 what came apart? The front CV joint and boot? Or a rear CV joint?
