Jacking Points.... 200 1990

I apologize for the stupidity/newbieness of this question in advance...'

Ok, so I am trying to figure out how to get my car off the ground. I have the standard scissor type jack for the car, but I also have a hydraulic piston jack. I have jack stands, but I ran into the problem of where to place them. I can jack the car up at the points for the scissor jack using the hydraulic jack so that’s not a concern. I just don't want to crush anything important, and obviously I don't want to put them on some part of the suspension, as that wouldn't be safe. I think I found spots for the front stands, one of the frame rails, but I couldn't locate any good spots in the back. Any help would be appreciated.

Oh, and on a side note when I did have the front of the car off the ground, I ran into an interesting problem. I had both jack stands in the front at the same height, however the drivers side front tire wasn’t off the ground, and the passenger’s side was… any thoughts on why? The car was level from side to side; as I checked just to make sure it wasn’t me.
