regarding tape

I don't think tape will do the trick. The crack in the housing is causing a condensation leak that is flooding the interior of the car. It is cracked in a bad spot, but you do have a point. I just don't know of any glue or tape that will prevent the water from leaking in that area, and will hold up to being wet all the time.
