I started her up this morning, popped the hood to double check clutch master fluid (my slave is leaking, waiting for replacement to arrive), and noticed fluid sporratically spraying from under my fuel pump. Got my fingers wet for a smell test and sure enough, I'm spraying gasoline in my compartment... Bummer.
So I couldn't exactly see where it was coming from, didn't look like it was a hose fitting, so I was pretty sure it was the gasket, but even looking from all angles, with car running, it was difficult to determine the exact source.
I got out the digi cam, shot some pictures (car still running to maintain fuel line pressure), shot some video...
The spray happens every 30 seconds or so, with light dripping between sprays. It's more like a sputter than a spray.
Anyway, here's a picture showing the gas coming from a small hole in the side of the pump...

What's the deal???
That hole looks like it's "supposed" to be there, but why? Is it supposed to be there? Can someone help?
Do you guys have "holes in your fuel pumps" too??
Can I rebuild a f. pump or should I opt for a new one?
Thanks for the help!
Here's another picture. It's a screen shot from a frame of some video that I took. It clearly shows the spray coming form that hole...
