Motor sound like

I hear a very small motor sound like behind the AC temperature/Heated seated button..somewhere there..I hear that after driving about 30mins or less of my V70 XC car and once I shut off the engine I still hear it for about another 3-5mins ...Sometimes I dont hear a thing even if i drive longer that 30mins its an Off -On thing ..its not so loud although its quite audible to hear it..anyone , can u help me with this I have a V70 XC AWD 2001 with 93K miles on it ..In away Im annoyed at times and wonder what it is
