Keeping door switch when adding keyless entry. 700

When I added keyless entry to my 940, I got the actuators and linkages from the right-front AND left-rear of a 740 – I wasn’t sure what I needed, so I wanted to cover my bases. (A BrickBoard member was parting out a car, so I had him remove and ship everything to me.)

In the primitive image I’ve attached, the original setup included the green linkage connected to the switch. The red linkages, the pivot point and the actuator all came from the left-rear door of the donor car.

As it turns out, the rear setup worked like a factory install when done this way on the front driver’s door – it required no drilling. The two holes required to mount the actuator were already there, and the one hole for the pivot point was already there. So my guess is that this is how Volvo did them.

I’m going on memory here, but I think I had to use the mounting bracket from the front actuator. It will be obvious when you see the parts. I have images of this at home. I’ll see if I can dig them up.
