Setting valves is kindof fun once you get the hang of it. Short job. Minimal risk of complications. Gratifying improvement in running after accomplished.

If you're inclined to try to self-maintain your car, doing valve adjustments periodically is appropriate.

Recommend go / no-go technique mentioned above. BTW, feeler gauge goes between valve stem and rocker.
