It was a daily driver last year. Needs a tailshaft bushing.
It seems like a lot of RWD Volvos are in need of tailshaft bushings after 150,000 to 200,000 miles. -and the Turbo and PRV-6 cars usually need it sooner than the N/A cars due to the higher torque loads placed on the bushing.
Yesterday I was under my 780 to replace the fuel filter and shim up the driveshaft bearing a bit, -and I noticed that I'm due for a new tailshaft bushing as well. I should just order a bunch of the kits from FCP Groton and keep them as a regular shelf stock item at home. I just did one last week on a friends 740 wagon with 200,000 miles, and I can think of a couple more cars that need it too.
God bless,
Fitz Fitzgerald.
