Sorry I gave such a short answer
The repaair involves re-flowing all the solder joints on the circuit board.
That vintage relay also used a 555 timer chip to get pulses from the distributor instead of pulses from the reluctor (hall effect 'thingey' on later models) - I've gotten blasted on earlier posts for suggesting replacing the damn thing with a toggle switch (which I have done on a few of my earlier Volvos) --- Added benefit - anti-theft -- won't start if you don't know where the switch is!
