Be aware that an Amazon intended to take the automatic gearbox has a wider transmission tunnel than the ones for the manual gearbox. So you probably will have to do some metal-surgery on the current tunnel.

I would advise against automatic gearboxes, they don't only waste a lot of power, they also take the fun out of driving. I think the main reason why Volvo introduced them was for the automatic-loving American market.
