Water heater valve

ok i have actually done this job...

I had to SMASH mine out...then cut one of the retaining clipa off the new one..

You rotate it (i think clockwise) about 45 degrees..then pull it towards you to remove it from inside the car (having removed the pipes first - note put LOTS opf cloth under the internal pipe as it spills water/antifreeze all over the carpets!) but you CANT do this without removing the entire pedal box assembly (at least on a manual)...

so either remove the entire pedal box assembly...or lever/smash it out then cut the offending projection off your new one and secure the new one in with a rubber grommet/jubilee clip in the engine bay...

if you havent got the new valve - looking at it helps to see whats going on...

its a bear of a job i would say budget 5-8 hours if oyur going to do it right removing the pedal box and you NEED two people for some of it!

one a left hand drive it guess it would be 1-2 hours....
