Harmonic balancer / timing position problem !!! 700 1986

i did buy a new balancer

BUT like I said the car ran fine the however the timing marks on the new belt don't line up with the marks i made on the timing the belt i took off??? do i just make all of the marks on the gears line up with the new belt and forget about it?? i don't wanna be tearing it off again or worse messing something up?

thanks for the replies

i am lead to believe tha the B230f is not an interferance engine correct?
