Boost affecting ventilation system? 700

Recently I noticed that when I have my heater fan on, the airflow stops momentarily when the turbo goes into boost. When the engines goes off boost and into vacuum, the airflow returns. Also, I have been noticing a faint odor of fuel/air mix when the turbo is boosting for more than a few seconds. Recently, I installed new hose from the manifold to my boost gauge. Is there another vacuum hose that serves the HVAC unit? Anyone have any thoughts?
