question about check engine light 700 1989

Check the 740 FAQ under the "Features" pull down.

The check engine light indicates a fault was detected by either the EFI or ignition computers. Some faults turn the "Check Engine" light on only when they ocurr. For these faults, the light will go out when the parameter in question goes back to normal.
