The fuel pressure regulator would only stop the fuel from starting your vehicle , try this, turn the key on and listen to hear your fuel pump start if it do turn it back off , take off your FPR , TURN KEY ON FOR A SECOND OR TWO if you see fuel the FPR is clogged meaning no good , replace it , my problem was pretty similar , it will save you money and time, which is money.
